Park Hyatt Opens in Suzhou, China

Hyatt today opened its ninth Park Hyatt and eighty-eighth hotel in China – Park Hyatt Suzhou. Located near the city’s freshwater Jinji Lake in the heart of Suzhou Industrial Park, the hotel houses 178 elegant rooms, including 19 suits, ranging from 50 to 173 square meters. The hotel well blends graceful architectural style and exquisite craftsmanship of traditional Suzhou Mansion into contemporary design.

Park Hyatt Suzhou is designed by New York architecture firm, Kohn Pedersen Fox, and features interiors by multi-award winning design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates. Instead of offering a large open space, the lobby of Park Hyatt Suzhou is quite similar to vestibule in traditional Suzhou Mansion. Guests will catch sight of the landscaping and water features in atrium while entering the hotel. Design details of Chinoiserie can be found everywhere, including crabapple blossom motif. As a symbol of opulence and nobility, the motif was widely used for imperial interior decoration in ancient China.

Park Hyatt Suzhou also features 2,420 sqm of event space including five multi-functional venues, a pool, fitness center, and spa with five treatment rooms.
